It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells

GREAT RUN last night. I have not attempted to run thirty minutes straight, so I was not sure what would happen...I made it and I felt as if I could go further. I was on a treadmill with a malfunctioning heart rate monitor (and mine has not arrived yet) so I am not sure if I met the 75% goal...but I am still really happy with the results and even happier that I felt as if I could go longer!

QUESTION: should I have gone longer than 30 minutes even though that is what my training plan called for?

DAY ONE of the peanut butter cracker project. Chattanooga has a lot of homeless people who pan handle. Koz and I usually come across a few every week on our downtown walks...I want to help them but I am not sure handing them cash is the answer. A while ago my Mom and I were downtown and a man who was laying down on a bench by our car asked if I could help him...I had some peanut butter crackers in my purse and I gave them to him and he immediately opened them and began eating them (all the thanks I needed!). So, I have been thinking about this for a while and decided that I am going to carry peanut butter crackers in my purse with me and on my walks with Koz. I got 12 packs of crackers for $4.87 at the Wall, I'll keep ya'll up to date on how this goes

Funny...I heard that song on my way to work this morning! I heart my XM Radio. A LOT.

Oh, and just stick to your plan. It's a plan for a reason. :)

I love the fact you carry crackers in your pocket just in case. It's a nice gesture. I try and keep spare change or a couple of dollars in my car whenever I come across those organizations that stand at the intersections collecting money for ______ (insert cause here).

Great job on the run! Keep up the good work. Doesn't it feel great?

It is not really about a gesture...it's about a tangable solution to a difficult problem...money is noy always the answer.

as for the longer than 30 mins question, not if your plan only called for 30 mins. Try and stick to it, yes, at times you can increase it but only you and your body know when. Just make sure to get rest after pushing yourself a little more than a planned workout. Most plans will have a time when it will push you.

I knew a lady that used to carry McD's gift certificates and hand those out, seemed to work because one of them asked her another time if she had any more b/c he was hungry.
